A presentation of the draft by-laws will be made, followed by a session of questions and discussion with the public.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"538\" src=\"https:\/\/revons.sutton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Visuel-plan-et-reglemts-urb-EN2-1-1024x538.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/revons.sutton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Visuel-plan-et-reglemts-urb-EN2-1-1024x538.png 1024w, https:\/\/revons.sutton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Visuel-plan-et-reglemts-urb-EN2-1-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/revons.sutton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Visuel-plan-et-reglemts-urb-EN2-1-768x403.png 768w, https:\/\/revons.sutton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Visuel-plan-et-reglemts-urb-EN2-1.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the same rigorous procedure as for the revision of the Urban Plan, the draft by-laws, adopted at the special council meeting on May 27, will be submitted to a formal public consultation meeting on Thursday, June 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Review timeline<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Open house on the revision of urban by-laws<\/strong>\u00a0on April 23, 2026<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the same spirit of&nbsp;<strong>transparency<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>collective participation<\/strong>&nbsp;adopted for the revision of the Urban Plan, an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/en\/invitation-to-an-open-house-on-the-revision-of-urban-by-laws-on-april-23-2026\/\">open evening<\/a>&nbsp;was held on April 23 to provide information on the progress of the revision work and to exchange views with residents. Some fifty people turned up to ask questions and make suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/revons.sutton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CompteRendu_PortesOuvertes_Reglmt_2026-04-23.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">minutes of these open houses<\/a>&nbsp;have been posted on Dream Sutton, in the Documents section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Adoption of draft urban by-laws<\/strong>\u00a0on May 27, 2026<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At a special council meeting on May 27, the Town of Sutton adopted&nbsp;<strong>eight draft urban planning bylaws<\/strong>&nbsp;that will be submitted for public consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All adopted project documents were posted online on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/revons.sutton.ca\/en\/projet\/revision-of-the-urban-plan-and-by-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dream Sutton\/Urban Plan and By-Laws Revision Process website<\/a>&nbsp;(in the mauve Documents section), as well as in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/en\/adoption-of-draft-urban-by-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">May 29 edition of the news&nbsp;<\/a>. Two printed versions were also made available to the public at the Town Hall reception desk and at the Sutton Municipal and School Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The session was recorded and can be heard online on our<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9Ml62f4VF4g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pre-consultation period from May 29 to June 18, 2026<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/en\/draft-urban-by-laws-pre-consultation-procedure-open-until-june-18\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>pre-consultation period&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a>which is not required by law, was then opened until June 18 for citizens to make comments and suggestions on the preliminary versions of the regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This pre-consultation is intended solely for people who have read&nbsp;<strong>the published draft regulations<\/strong>&nbsp;in the published documents. Its purpose is to enable them to obtain clarifications or make suggestions following their reading, with a view to the official public consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Official public consultation on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As provided for in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/fr\/document\/lc\/A-19.1?langCont=fr#ga:l_i-gb:l_iii-h1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Act respecting land use planning and development<\/a>&nbsp;(LAU) and announced in today\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WEB-Avis-public-consultation-projet-de-reglement-RU-2026-06-25-ANG.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">public notice<\/a>, a&nbsp;<strong>public consultation session<\/strong>&nbsp;will be held on June 25 on the draft urban planning by-laws adopted on May 27.
